As both a professional artist and art educator, I've watched something remarkable happen over and over again. People don't stop creating because they lack ability—they stop because they don't know where to start.

That simple observation inspired me to create my Create Kit.

I wanted to assemble a collection of my favorite everyday tools that would encourage anyone—from complete beginners to experienced artists—to slow down, open a sketchbook, and make something. The kit is intentionally simple. There isn't expensive equipment or intimidating materials. Instead, it's designed to help you build one of the most valuable creative habits: showing up.

The Creativity Kit makes a thoughtful gift for artists, students, parents, teachers, graduates, and anyone who could use a reminder that creativity belongs in everyday life.

I also believe creativity is one of the best antidotes to our increasingly digital world. While technology has many benefits, there is something irreplaceable about putting pencil to paper, noticing the world around you, and making something with your own hands.

One of my favorite images of the Creativity Kit was photographed by my dear friend, artist and designer Kristin Braaten McPeak. Kristin and I met while studying art together at Texas Christian University, and after decades of friendship, she continues to inspire me with her beautiful design work and creative eye. I'm grateful she captured the spirit of this project so perfectly.
