Bear Mountain Inn

Painted in 2019, Bear Mountain Inn captures the movement and changing light of a landscape shaped by water, trees, and open sky. Layers of cool blues and soft whites sweep across the water, punctuated by unexpected touches of yellow and turquoise, while the darker shoreline anchors the composition.
The expressive brushwork reflects Christina Chang’s interest in translating the experience and memory of a place rather than documenting it literally. An earlier work in her evolving landscape practice, the painting reveals the gestural marks, color relationships, and sense of movement that continue throughout her work today.
The original oil painting is presented in a warm wood frame with a black inner border and is ready to hang. Signed by the artist on the back.
