End of the Year Reflection
As the year 2024 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey it’s been. This year has been marked by the word “nurture,” a guiding principle that has inspired me to care for my body, mind, and heart, as well as my art, relationships, and teaching practice.
Looking back, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the many blessings in my life. From creating new paintings to achieving my highest-grossing year of art sales and workshops, 2024 has been a year of growth, abundance, and deep connection. None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of friends, family, and loved ones. Thank you for cheering me on and believing in my vision.
This year also brought opportunities to explore and recharge through travel. Visiting Utah and Los Angeles to connect with my Chang family was a beautiful reminder of the importance of roots and shared history. These trips gave me the space to reflect, find inspiration, and return to my studio with fresh energy.
One of the highlights of 2024 was the creation of new works like *Hike Those Hills*, a piece that holds significant meaning for me. I’ve poured my heart into my art, channeling my experiences and emotions into each piece, and I’m thrilled to share this work with you in the coming months.
I’m excited to announce two upcoming shows where you can experience my art in person. Join me for *Immense Color, Infinite Space,* a reception at the Art Gallery in Weston Public Library on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Additionally, I’ll be showing at Gallery House in Lexington, and I can’t wait to connect with you there. Your presence means the world to me and adds so much to the art community we’ve built together.
This year, nurturing myself also meant tending to my roles as a teacher, friend, and family member. I’ve cherished the moments spent with my children, parents, and my amazing husband, whose support and encouragement inspire me daily. Watching him train for an Ironman has been a testament to perseverance and passion, values that have deeply resonated with me this year.
As I close out 2024, I feel a profound sense of thankfulness. Thankful for my health, for the ability to create art, and for the love that surrounds me. Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support—whether by attending a workshop, visiting a show, or simply sending a kind word—means everything to me. Together, we’ve nurtured a year of creativity, connection, and growth.
Here’s to 2025, a new year filled with possibilities, challenges, and beauty. May we continue to nurture ourselves and each other as we embrace what lies ahead.
